of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSD P&R). Information contained within
ADLNet.gov is public and may be copied or distributed provided that the appropriate

noted. E-mail addresses gathered from registered users are placed on an ADLNet.gov
mailing list. To opt out of the ADLNet.gov mailing list you must update your
user information.
- Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on ADLNet.gov
is strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse
Act of 1986, revised 2001 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection
Act.

Publishing Schedule
ADLNet.gov publishes information on an as needed basis.
Site Security
As a condition of your use of ADLNet.gov, you will not use
this site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions
and notices. You may not use ADLNet.gov in any manner that could damage, disable,
overburden or impair any network or server, or interfere with any other individual's
use of ADLNet.gov. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to services,
materials, user accounts, computer systems or networks connected to any ADL server
or to the Web site, through hacking, password mining or any other means. You may
not obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not
intentionally made available through ADLNet.gov.
To ensure that this service remains available to all users, ADL employs software
programs which monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to log
into Registered Users, upload files, change content or to cause damage.
Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on ADLNet.gov is
strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act
of 1986, revised 2001 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.
ADL has incorporated the use of encrypted passwords, SSL protection and Lockout
Security (three unsuccessful attempts to login will cause a user's account to be
frozen for one hour.) into all Registered Users accounts to protect against unauthorized
attempts.
Cookies are not required to view ADLNet.gov. Cookies that have been created by the
user's computer while on ADLNet.gov do not contain personal information or used
to compromise the user's privacy or security.
Information Collection
ADL collects and stores information to monitor site usage. The information collected
is used to monitor site security and for analytical purposes. ADL collects and stores
only the following information:
- Internet domain and IP address
from which you access ADLNet.gov
- Type of Web browser and operating
system used to access ADLNet.gov
- Date and time you access ADLNet.gov
- Pages you visit and the order
you visit them on ADLNet.gov
- Links of any sites that referred
you to ADLNet.gov.
No other user-identifying information is collected.

Registered Users
Registered Users
are those that have registered through ADLNet.gov for events, downloads, newsletters,
etc.
For any services on ADLNet.gov that requires you to open an account, you must complete
the registration process by providing ADL with current, complete and accurate information
as required by the applicable registration form, and maintain such information to
keep it current, complete and accurate. You also will choose a password. Your
username will be your e-mail address. You are entirely responsible for maintaining
the confidentiality of your password and account. ADLNet.gov Registered
User’s information is kept confidential unless otherwise noted. Furthermore,
you are entirely responsible for any and all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to notify the ADLNet Webmaster immediately of any unauthorized use of
your account or any other breach of security. ADL will not be liable for any loss
that you may incur as a result of someone else using your password or account, either
with or without your knowledge. However, you could be held liable for losses incurred
by ADL or another party due to someone else using your account or password. You
may not use anyone else's account at any time, without the permission of the account
holder. If you provide any information that is false, inaccurate, out of date, or
incomplete, or ADL has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is false,
inaccurate, not current, or incomplete, ADL may suspend or terminate your account
and refuse any and all current or future use of the services or any portion thereof.
As a Registered User of ADLNet.gov, you acknowledge that ADL may place your e-mail
address on an ADLNet.gov mailing list unless you opt out of this service.
To opt out of the ADLNet.gov mailing list, you must update your user information.
Software Usage
Any software that is made available to download from ADLNet.gov is the copyrighted
work of ADL. Use of the Software is governed by the terms of the end user license
agreement, if any, which accompanies or is included with the Software, or as expressly
stated on the pages accompanying the software. An end user will not be able to download
or install any Software that is accompanied by or includes a License Agreement,
unless he or she first agrees to the License Agreement terms. ADL Copyrighted software
may not be redistributed or repackaged for distribution. End users must agree to
the license agreement at ADLnet.gov prior to obtaining ADL copyrighted software.
The Software is made available for download solely for use by end users according
to the License Agreement. Absent a License Agreement that accompanies the Software,
use of the Software will be governed by the Terms of Use.
This software is provided "AS IS," without a warranty of any kind. ALL EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED CONDITIONS, REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY
OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, ARE HEREBY
EXCLUDED. ADL Co-Lab AND
ITS LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES SUFFERED BY
LICENSEE AS A RESULT OF USING, MODIFYING OR DISTRIBUTING THE SOFTWARE OR ITS DERIVATIVES.
IN NO EVENT WILL ADL Co-Lab OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOST REVENUE, PROFIT
OR DATA, OR FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR PUNITIVE
DAMAGES, HOWEVER CAUSED AND REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY, ARISING OUT OF
THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADL Co-Lab HAS BEEN ADVISED OF
THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Documentation Usage
ADLNet.gov is provided as a public service by the Office of the Secretary
of Defense.
You are permitted to view, copy, print and distribute documents within ADLNet.gov
(such as Developer articles, white papers, presentations, press releases, etc.),
subject to your agreement with the following restrictions:
- Use of the information must be for informational, personal and/or non-commercial,
purposes only.
- Documents, publications or graphics may not be modified.
- Graphics may not be distributed separately from their accompanying text.
- Materials may not be quoted out of their original context.
- Appropriate copyright and or proprietary notices must be displayed on every copy
produced. (example below)
Use of materials constitutes acknowledgement that ADL may revoke the right to use
materials at any time. If the right to use materials is revoked, usage shall be
terminated immediately.

The permission above to use documents does not include permission to copy the design
elements, look and feel, or layout of ADLNet.gov. No logo, graphic, video or image
from ADLNet.gov may be copied or retransmitted unless expressly permitted by ADL.
To use the ADL logo and related logos in print, multimedia/video or on Web sites,
permission must be granted and the source of the logo(s) credited. Review the ADL Logo Usage

Video Usage
Video recordings posted to ADLNet.gov are not copyrighted unless noted.
A recording may be reproduced and distributed for non-commercial purposes without
further permission from ADL. Copyrighted music or footage, which is incorporated
in a production, may not be used unless permission is obtained from the copyright
owner. Use of these video recordings for commercial purposes is prohibited.
Forum Usage
ADLNet.gov contains a forum system designed to enable the ADL Community
to communicate with others. You agree to use the Forums only to post, send and receive
messages that relates to that particular message board within the Forum. By way
of example, and not as a limitation, you agree that when using the Forums you will
not:
- Use the Forums in connection
with surveys, contests, pyramid schemes, chain letters, junk email, spamming or
any duplicative or unsolicited messages (commercial or otherwise).
- Defame, abuse, harass, stalk,
threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity)
of others.
- Publish, post, upload, distribute
or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, obscene, unlawful, or otherwise
objectionable topic, name, material or information.
- Upload, or otherwise make available,
files that contain images, photographs, software or other material protected by
intellectual property laws, including, by way of example, and not as limitation,
copyright or trademark laws (or by rights of privacy or publicity) unless you own
or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consent to do the same.
- Use any material or information,
including images or photographs, which are made available through the Forums in
any manner that infringes any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or other
proprietary right of any party.
- Upload files that contain viruses,
Trojan horses, worms, corrupted files or any other similar software or programs
that may damage the operation of another's computer or property of another.
- Falsify or delete any copyright
information, such as author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary
designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained
in a file that is uploaded.
- Restrict or inhibit any other
user from using the Forums.
- Harvest or otherwise collect
information about others, including e-mail addresses.
- Violate any applicable laws
or regulations.
- Create a false identity for
the purpose of misleading others.
- Use, download or otherwise copy,
or provide (whether or not for a fee) to a person or entity any directory of users
of the Forums or other user or usage information or any portion thereof.
ADL monitors the Forums regularly and reserves the right to remove and/or edit any
materials in its sole discretion. ADL reserves the right to terminate your
access to the Forums at any time, without notice, for any reason whatsoever.
Information Quality Guidelines
This Information Quality Guidelines apply to all content (section, news, downloads,
etc) posted to ADLNet.gov.
- ADL strives to ensure that the
content posted is substantively useful, accurate, reliable and unbiased and presented
in a useful, accurate, clear, complete and unbiased manner.
- ADL adopts a basic standard
of quality and takes appropriate steps to incorporate information quality criteria
into content posted to ADLNet.gov.
- ADL reviews the quality of information
before posting and on a bi-annual basis to ensure that it complies with the standards
set forth in these Guidelines.
- ADL treats information quality
as integral to every step in their development of information, including creation,
collection, maintenance and dissemination.
- ADL ensures that content posted
is accessible to all persons pursuant to the requirements of Section 508 of the
Rehabilitation Act.
- ADL protects information maintained
from unauthorized access or revision to ensure that disseminated information is
not compromised through corruption or falsification.
- ADL maintains the integrity
of confidential information and complies with the statutory requirements to protect
the information it gathers and disseminates.
Articles
ADL does not claim ownership of the materials you provide to ADLNet.gov in the form
of Developer articles. However, by submitting an article you are granting
ADL permission to use your article on ADLNet.gov.
No compensation will be paid with respect to the use of your articles, as provided
herein. ADL is under no obligation to post or use any articles you may provide and
ADL may remove any articles at any time in its sole discretion.

Adopters, ADL in the News, Articles, etc. These links are provided as
a convenience and do not imply any type of endorsement. ADLNet.gov does not assume

Linking Guidelines
Before linking to ADLNet.gov users must agree to comply with the following:
- Organizations will link to ADLNet.gov
through a hypertext link.
- When linking to ADLNet.gov using

Learning Initiative" or "ADLNet.gov."
- When linking to ADLNet.gov,
