WHAT
IS THE POINT FORECAST MATRIX?
The
Point Forecast Matrix, or PFM, displays forecasted weather parameters
in 3 and 12-hour intervals out to 7 days.
The forecast parameters are derived from a digital forecast database
that is prepared by National Weather Service meteorologists in Amarillo,
Texas. The PFM is issued daily around 430 AM and 400 PM. For the
latest PFM, click the Current button below.
HOW
TO READ/INTERPRET THE PFM PRODUCT
There
are several forecast parameters which appear in the PFM product.
Some of these values are forecasted in 12 hour intervals while others
are forecasted in 3 hour intervals. For an example of an PFM product
and a description of each of its parameters, select the Example
button below.
