For twenty years, the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program has worked hand-in-hand with a variety of partners on private lands. The program emphasizes wetland, stream, and riparian restoration and the reestablishment of native habitats. Selected projects meet both landowner and fish and wildlife needs.

As of 2005, the Partners Program has worked with over 37,700 private landowners to restore 753,000 acres of wetland, 1.86 million acres of native grasslands and other uplands, and 6,806 miles of riparian and in-stream habitat and to remove 260 fish passage barriers.
