HMBS - Ginnie Mae's Program to Securitize Government Insured Home Equity Conversion Mortgages

HMBS Overview Presentation - The HMBS Overview Presentation provides basic information about Ginnie Mae's new HMBS Program.

HMBS Overall Requirements - The HMBS overall requirements are documented in Chapter 35 of the Ginnie Mae MBS Guide 55003 Rev 1. This Chapter refers to many other chapters of the MBS Guide and issuers unfamiliar with Ginnie Mae's programs should become familiar with the various MBS Guide chapters related to the HMBS program.

HMBS Issuer Requirements - Existing issuers and new issuers must apply for and obtain a new issuer ID number for the HMBS Program. Eligibility requirements for new issuers are provided in Chapter 2 of the MBS Guide. Contact Justin Burch at (202) 475-7804 regarding the requirements for obtaining an issuer ID number and other instructions related to pooling HMBS securities.

HMBS Pooling - The HMBS Pooling document (MBS Guide Appendix III-28) provides the detailed information about the data requirements and record import layouts associated with assembling new HMBS pools for issuance.

HMBS Monthly Accounting Reports - The HMBS monthly accounting and reporting document (MBS Guide Appendix VI-17) provides the detailed information about the data requirements and record import layouts associated with the required monthly accounting reports for HMBS pools.

HMBS Issuer System Testing for HMBS Program - Issuers interested in testing the HMBS Issuer System can learn how in the HMBS Issuer Testing Process Plan. This document provides the procedural information for testing between issuers and Ginnie Mae. This document also prepares issuers for monthly reporting of HMBS pool and loan data. However, new pool processing is not covered in this document. That information can be received by contacting the GinnieNET helpdesk using the phone number 1-800-234-GNMA (Option #1). A helpdesk representative can assist with the GinnieNet issuer registration and testing process.

HMBS Prospectus Search - The HMBS Search Page allows searching for Base Prospectus, Prospectus Supplement and Prospectus Supplement Annex using either CUSIP number or HMBS Pool Number.
