EE's Mission



To support and foster the efficient use of energy and direct application renewable resources.

Value of EE Efforts



  • Stretch existing hydroelectric system resources.
  • Support a non-polluting hydroelectric system, helping to reduce greenhouse gases.
  • Save consumers money, which enhances the Northwest economy.


Two Main Purposes for EE



  1. Public Purpose
    To deliver credible, environmentally sound, unbiased information, technical and/or financial support. To provide leadership for regional market transformation, technological innovation and information/education. (Our Governmental role)

    To be a catalyst in breaking down barriers to enlarge the existing energy efficiency marketplace. (Our Market Development role)

  2. Business Purpose
    To effectively contribute to the products and services of BPA's commercial enterprises through resource acquisition, peak load reduction and enhancing business relations with power and transmission customers. (Our Support to other Business Lines role)


Five Major Functional Areas



EE operates within five functional areas to produce results that fulfill our two main purposes.

  1. Market Development,
  2. Sponsored Efficiency Initiatives,
  3. Market Transformation,
  4. Legacy, and
  5. Work for Internal Clients.


EE Success



We know we succeed in our Public Purpose when constituents and the general public recognize and support BPA's value in expanding energy efficiency and end-use renewables in the NW. We succeed in our Business Purpose when our efforts help the BPA Power Business or Transmission Business Lines and their customers achieve the business objectives they have set for themselves.
