Eligibility Requirements

This page will provide a summary of the eligibility requirements for State Distributing Agencies and recipient agencies such as school districts that are interested in participating in Commodity Processing.

Bullet Participant Eligibility Requirements. Any SDA or recipient agency, such as school districts participating in the National School Lunch Program is eligible to enter into State or National Processing Agreements (NPA) for the acquisition and delivery of table-ready end products purchased from approved commercial food processors.

State Processing Agreements. These type of agreements
    are approved at the state level and are negotiated
    between the SDA and commercial food processors.

--  National Processing Agreement (NPA). These type of
    agreements are approved by USDA at the national
     level and are negotiated between the FNS/Food
     Distribution Headquarters staff and commercial food
     processors. For further assistance on how to participate
     in NPA, please contact the USDA/NPA Team.
