National History Day (June 13, 2002)

Sec. Paige shows his Texas pride with the delegation from his home state.  Students from Nimitz, Copperas Cove, Falfurrias, and Eisenhower High Schools all took home medals from various competitions. Secretary Paige congratulates Kevin O'Reilly from Hamilton, Massachusetts, as a co-winner of the 2002 Richard T. Farrell Teacher of Merit Award.
Sec. Paige presents an award to a student for outstanding work in her submission for the National History Day Contest.  Over two thousand middle school and high school students participated in this years contest in seven categories. Secretary Paige congratulates Sandra Stults from Winchester, Kentucky, as a co-winner of the 2002 Richard T. Farrell Teacher of Merit Award.
Sec. Paige presents an award to a student for outstanding work in his submission for the National History Day Contest.  The National History Day Program is a yearlong academic activity for elementary and secondary schools that makes history every day. Sec. Paige joins students and teachers from New York during the National History Day celebration.
