There are many kinds of pesticides, including herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides. Under United States law, a pesticide is also any substance intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant. Many household substances are also considered pesticides, including insect repellents, pet collars, kitchen, laundry, and bath disinfectants and sanitizers.
