Initiate, design, implement and evaluate developmental programs to: Increase awareness of Extension faculty and staff about diversity through training and development. Integrate diversity training into new and existing programs and build the faculty and staffs' capacity for embracing diversity throughout the organization and its programs. Build systems to support and retain a diverse workforce in Extension including individual and team coaching in conjunction with Employee Development Network team members. Identify and coordinate a team of faculty and staff throughout the organization who will serve as diversity resource persons in programming (i.e. working with many racial, cultural and ethnic groups). Assist faculty and staff to train volunteers to embrace diversity, support a diverse Extension workforce, and support programming with diverse audiences. 2. Direct and administer programs to support implementation of Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity in OSU Extension including: Providing training and development about Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity laws and how they support diversity in the organization. Coordinating the EEO Counselor program, including recruitment, retention, and training of counselors. Administering the OSU Extension Diversity Review process that includes training, scheduling and conducting annual on-site and self reviews, and preparing reports. Coordinating data collection and reporting of the AA/EEO portions of the Federal Plan of Work and Report of Results. 3. Lead Extension Administrative Leadership Network in modeling a commitment to diversity by: Creating a sound business case for why diversity matters in OSU Extension including building quantitative measures into existing data about faculty and staff and customers, identifying programmatic examples of how diversity has increased program impact or funding, and exploring trends. Designing and implementing a recognition and reward system for outstanding diversity efforts. Assuring that diversity is a consideration in performance appraisal, salary adjustments, and budget allocations, etc. Fostering commitment and growth of administrative leaders regarding diversity. Assisting faculty and staff to identify the diversity aspects as programs, policies, processes, or procedures are proposed. 4. Provide administrative leadership for programs to build a more diverse workforce for OSU Extension by: Developing and coordinating programs to aid in recruitment and professional development of minority faculty and staff. Working closely with university leadership and programmatic resource persons in the areas of diversity and AA/EEO. 5. Develop and monitor a programmatic budget as part of the Employee Development Network: Senior A and P position, OSU Extension, 100% appointment. Member of the Employee Development Network and reports to Team Leader, Training and Development. Serves on the Administrative Leadership Network. QUALIFICATIONS Masters degree or equivalent and career experience working with diversity issues. Interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated management, networking and collaborative skills are required. Demonstrated leadership ability in diversity program development and implementation with diverse audiences. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours (some evenings and weekends), extensive overnight travel throughout Ohio and occasional out-of-state travel, be able to work with minimum supervision, and be an effective team player. SALARY Commensurate with experience/credentials. Must provide own transportation with mileage allowance at 34.5 cents per mile (01-22-01).
