Mission:
Drawing on strong science and effective partnerships, we create, share, and use knowledge and technology to increase food security and improve the productivity and profitability of farming systems by collecting and preserving plant germplasm, managing pests, and developing effective and economical utilization of by-products from fish processing in Alaska. Primary goals of the IPM project are to develop effective, economical pest management strategies with a minimum of adverse environmental impacts. The goal of the Aquaculture project is to increase the value of underutilized fish by-products in a sustainable manner. The objective of the Germplasm project is to collect, evaluate, preserve, and distribute selected circumpolar germplasm that are important to agricultural and natural ecosystems.
