The VA Puget Sound HCS Urologic Oncology program is a teaching hospital cancer program as designated by the Committee on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons, serving veterans throughout VISN20.

 

Program Goals:

  • Excellence in patient care    
  • Education in prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment options    
  • Participation in prostate cancer prevention and research clinical trials    
  • Development of strong interactions with VA facilities throughout VISN20 and nationwide

The urologic oncology program at the VA Puget Sound HCS is designed to provide patients with a multidisciplinary approach to prostate cancer. Patients with prostate cancer are seen by medical, urologic and radiation oncologists in addition to specialists in endocrinology, nutrition, palliative care, psychology, and social work.

The focus of the program is to offer patients the most recently developed cancer treatments available through clinical trials.
