This person will be responsible for guiding and supporting NCFL’s Even Start training and technical assistance strategies emphasizing literacy development for adults and children. This position requires the candidate to possess a thorough understanding of the Even Start family literacy program and literacy development. Essential tasks are varied and include designing and implementing technical assistance strategies to address program and content issues; designing and providing workshops; and developing content for training and general publication. Travel is involved and the candidate must be willing to relocate to the Louisville, Kentucky area. Qualifications Required: A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in administering Even Start programs are required. State level Even Start administration or other state education agency administration experience is preferred. Must have an understanding of the national Even Start program, and its integration into a variety of settings; literacy development; excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to execute short-term and long-term plans; ability to work with family literacy staff at all levels.
