The Operations Section is composed of Area Engineers, a Pavement and Materials Engineer, and a Quality Coordinator working to administer the Federal-aid highway program in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The Operations Section's focus is on the project-specific issues related to delivery of the Federal-aid program as set forth in the stewardship plan. The Operations Section works together to provide guidance and oversight of Federal-aid projects beginning with environmental coordination and continuing through right-of-way acquisition, design, and construction.

The Operations Section's responsibility is to deliver the Federal-aid program in a quality manner that fulfills our stewardship requirements and partnership agreements. The Operations Section works with an interdisciplinary team to review federal aid projects in a manner in which full consideration is given to issues related to the human and natural environment during the project development process.
