GOVERNOR LEADS ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION WITH WOMEN FROM UNITED STATES, ASIA-PACIFIC

July 10 - Governor Lingle welcomed 14 women from the United States and the Asia-Pacific region to the State Capitol for a round table discussion as part of the East-West Center's "Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Program."

The Governor shared her personal leadership experiences and discussed critical issues facing the state, including innovation and affordable housing. "Innovation is critically important because it allows us to achieve everything else," she told delegates.

The annual program brings together women from many areas of society, including local elected officials, civil service, education, media and non-governmental organizations.  This year’s theme is “Women and Peacebuilding in Asia, the Pacific and the United States.”
