The national enforcement and compliance assurance program identifies program priorities and overall program direction in the National Program Manager's (NPM) Guidance and longer term activities tied to the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA).

National Priorities - A summary of the FY 2008-2010 national enforcement and compliance assurance program priorities is provided.

Short-Term Planning - The enforcement and compliance assurance program undertakes strategic planning efforts that translate the longer term Strategic Plan into annual work plans. The primary guidance document that the enforcement and compliance assurance program uses for this purpose is the National Program Managers Guidance.

Long-Term Planning - The Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) requires federal agencies to delineate long-term goals and objectives in a strategic plan. The majority of EPA's enforcement and compliance program is in Goal 5 of EPA's Strategic Plan: Compliance and Environmental Stewardship.
