Call Center Wait Times: Due to an unusually high volume of inquires regarding both regular unemployment and the extended unemployment program, wait times in the Unemployment Call Center are averaging 30 minutes. We apologize for this inconvenience. If you need to speak with a Call Center representative, wait times are typically shorter on Wednesdays and Thursdays. A variety of information about your claim also is available on our Web site.

Extended Benefit Update: Under the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program (EUC08), eligible applicants could receive up to 13 additional weeks of UI benefits. The current processing time for extended unemployment benefit applications is approximately three weeks from the time we receive an application. Apply for Unemployment Benefits  

Apply for Unemployment Benefits: 
Select this option to file an application for the first time for unemployment benefits if:

  • you have returned to work, but become unemployed again
  • or to reopen an existing claim if you had to stop filing weekly claims for one week or more.
You may file your online application from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
File a Weekly Claim  

File a Weekly Claim:
Select this option to file a claim for unemployment benefits for every week that you remain unemployed. You may file weekly claims from 12:00 p.m. (noon) Sunday to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Monday and from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Tuesday through Saturday.
Get Claim Status  

Get Claim Status: 
Select this option to get information about:

  • status of your weekly claim
  • date payment was issued
  • amount of your three last payments
This service is available 12 p.m. (noon) Sunday to 12 a.m. (midnight) Monday from 7 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Tuesday through Saturday.
