The following "Frequently Asked Questions" contain information about your rights and responsibilities when filing for unemployment insurance benefits online or by phone. While this information does not have the effect of law or regulation, it may help answer questions you have about filing your claim. If you are unable to find an answer to your question or problem here, please contact the Kansas Unemployment Call Center

When filing your claim, please remember that you must:

  1. Provide true and accurate information on any and all applications.
  2. After you file your first unemployment claim, we will mail you an
    informational booklet titled Unemployment Insurance Benefits.
    Please read it completely.
  3. Please keep track of information about your weekly work search including:
    1. The companies you send your resume to
    2. Any people you speak to on the telephone about a job
    3. Any interviews you may have
    4. Our office may request this information at any time.
