2008 SmartWay Excellence Award Winners

2008 SmartWay Excellence Award Nominations
Now Being Accepted

Each year the SmartWay Transport program presents its SmartWay Excellence Awards to honor partners and affiliate organizations that have made outstanding contributions to reducing climate change emissions and other air pollutants. Selection as a SmartWay Excellence Award winner confers the status of being among a distinguished group of industry leaders dedicated to advancing environmental performance and efficiency.

SmartWay Excellence Awardees are chosen based on their commitment, progressive action, and innovation, as well as the impact of their example on the entire freight industry. The 2008 Awardees will be announced Oct. 7, 2008, at a breakfast plenary session during the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals' (CSCMP) annual conference Exit EPA Disclaimer in Denver, Colorado.

To be considered for a SmartWay Excellence Award, all partners and affiliates must:

  1. have joined the partnership prior to June 30, 2007,
  2. have submitted an action plan,
  3. have submitted a 2007 annual update by June 30, 2008,
  4. be eligible to use the SmartWay partner logo*, and
  5. have an awards nomination form submitted (through self-nomination or nomination by another entity) by June 30, 2008.

*Note: affiliates are not required to have an action plan on file, and do not need to meet logo criteria, as they do not have access to the SmartWay partner logo.
