Working mothers

Frequency of child support

  • Frequency of child support reported by fathers 15-44 years of age who have at least one child under 19 years of age who does not live with him, 2002:
    • Does not contribute: 15.3%
    • Contributes once in a while: 8.9%
    • Contributes on a regular basis: 75.8%

    NOTE: Men with nonresident children were asked if they contributed money or child support in the last 12 months for those children.
