Responsible Conduct of Research: Linked here is a document by the Office of Research Integrity (ORI), Department of Health and Human Services, entitled ‘Introduction to the Responsible Conduct of Research.’ This monograph provides a distilled, yet comprehensive, summary of issues that all researchers should be conversant with and should incorporate into their daily practice of research. Topics include research misconduct, human subjects protections, animal welfare, conflicts of interest, data management, mentor/trainee responsibilities, collaborative research, authorship and publications, and peer review. ORI’s ‘Introduction to the Responsible Conduct of Research’ may be especially useful for those who are recently embarking on their research career and for those who could benefit from a refresher course in research integrity. If you have difficulty linking directly to the pdf document, please go to the following website: http://ori.dhhs.gov/education/products/RCRintro/ . |
