As you start to think about a career, here are a few pointers:

  • The earlier you start thinking about what you'd enjoy, the better off you'll be.
  • Get your high school diploma or a GED.
  • Take as many courses in math and science as you can.
  • Learn good speaking and writing skills.

Career Voyages has lots of information to help you learn about:

  • different types of careers,
  • knowledge and skills you must have and,
  • information about education and training opportunities.

A good resource to help you get started if you're still in high school is our Career Clusters section.

Career Voyages exists to help you find out which occupations are in-demand. To learn more about how these industries and occupations were selected, click here. This web site also gives those high demand occupations which do not require years and years of school. In fact, there are lots of alternatives to a 4-year degree, including, apprenticeships, vocational certificates, and 2-year degrees.
