Iron and Metal Worker
Today's MVT is the Iron and Sheet Metal Worker. St. Louis' own Gateway Arch stands as monument to this Most Valuable Trade. Its 52,000 tons of steel, looming 630 feet over the Mississippi, was put together in 142 sections, primarily though welding. Throughout the world-and above it and beneath it-metal workers forge the foundations of everything from infrastructure to art.
