Habitat Management

Oak Savanna PhotoThe accomplishment of Refuge wildlife objectives is achieved primarily through habitat management. Each wildlife species has habitat requirements for food, cover, and reproduction which the Refuge provides through management techniques that restore, enhance or maintain three major native habitat types: oak savanna, wetlands, and big woods.
