The benefit to Residents living in such housing is rent lower than the market rate. The rent is 40, 50 or 60% of the area median income as published by HUD (Housing and Urban Development), often resulting in rent substantially lower than other comparable apartments. Each year the rents will be reviewed to ensure they remain at 40, 50, or 60% of the area median income. |
