ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY OF MINNESOTA RECEIVES GRANT
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., February 10, 2005 - The Qwest Foundation, Qwest Communication's giving program, has donated $3,000 to the Assistive Technology of Minnesota (ATMN). The grant is part of Qwest's ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of the communities it serves.

The grant will be used to support the Access to Telework-Minnesota program. The purpose of this program is to provide an alternative to traditional employment for Minnesotans with disabilities. The goal of the program is to employ people with disabilities who are unemployed due to barriers in the work place or physical challenges that prevent them from working in a traditional setting.

"Qwest is proud to support Assistive Technology of Minnesota and their employment program for people with disabilities,” said John Stanoch, Qwest President for Minnesota. “Our donation is part of our Spirit of Service and our commitment to enriching the communities that Qwest services.”

“The Qwest Foundation’s donation will be matched with a nine-to-one grant from the federal government. That means that the $3,000 will actually total $30,000 to benefit Minnesotans with disabilities.” said Carol Fury, Executive Director, ATMN. “This donation will have a significant impact on their employment opportunities, where before there were only barriers.”

The Qwest Foundation's core principle is that investing in people and communities provides lasting value for the future. The Qwest Foundation awards grants to community-based programs that generate high impact and measurable results, focusing on K-12 education and economic development.

The Qwest Foundation's philosophy is to help build strong communities through investing in people and the places where they live and work. For more information, contact www.qwest.com/foundation.
