Office of Procurement Policy and Oversight (CG-913)

Measuring Small Business Goals

In support of the President's small business agenda, the U.S. Coast Guard provides maximum practicable opportunities in our acquisitions to small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, and women-owned small business concerns.

CG-913 is tasked with being the primary point of contact for the U.S. Coast Guard small business program. The small business program is managed through active participation with Homeland Security counterparts. The U.S. Coast Guard small business program is responsible for coordinating the yearly small business goals with Homeland Security and then tracking the goals to ensure that the Coast Guard is on the right path to achieve the goals.

Through a unified team approach involving senior management, small business personnel, acquisition personnel, and technical/program staff, the U.S. small business program supports both our critical national mission and the important public policy objective of small business inclusion in our acquisition programs.
