GOV. RITTER TO TAKE PART IN NOTRE DAME SUSTAINABLE ENERGY FORUM ON WEDNESDAY

Gov. Bill Ritter will be taking part in a national new-energy dialogue on Wednesday, participating in a Sustainable Energy Forum at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend., Ind.

Gov. Ritter will sit on a panel with Jeff Immelt, chairman and CEO of General Electric; Ernest Moniz, director of the Energy Initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and Majora Carter, founder of Sustainable South Bronx.

The panel will explore the various ways in which community leaders, government officials, scientists and corporations can contribute to creating sustainable energy practices individually, institutionally, nationally and globally.

Gov. Ritter was invited to take part in the fourth annual Notre Dame issues forum because of:

  • His success in building Colorado's New Energy Economy and establishing Colorado as a national and international leader in renewable energy;
  • His insights into what leaders and governments must do to create a new and sustainable energy future for America, and;
  • His ability, as a Catholic policymaker, to offer views at a forum hosted by the one of the nation's foremast Catholic universities.
