Grantee Funding
In 1982, President Ronald W. Reagan's Task Force on Victims of Crime first identified the faith community as a vital and largely untapped source of support for victims. OVC supports programs through its Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) discretionary grant program, including:
Numerous other faith-based organizations received funding through the OVC Services to Trafficking Victims Discretionary Grant Program and the Helping Outreach Programs to Expand (HOPE) initiative. Also, OVC promoted coalition-building between the faith and victim service communities through the Faith-Based or Community Organizations and Victim Services Mini-Grant Program. This Grantee Funding information is part of several Web pages designed to provide timely, useful resources and information tailored to the needs of faith-related victim assistance efforts.
