Procedure For Requesting Guidelines Title Bar

  1. CASPIR may be contacted via:
    email: ABCsIsolateBank@cdc.gov
    phone: 770-339-5949
    fax : 770-339-5943
  2. Caspir personnel will provide instructions (“ABCs Isolate Request Guidelines”) on how to officially request isolates, along with a description of available isolates and parameters (“Isolate Information Available”). This description should help the requestor(s) to focus the request.
  3. Requests must be sent on official letterhead and should define the number and type of isolates needed. The requestor must include current professional affiliation and a brief summary plan for use of the strains.
  4. CDC will work with the requestor to complete a material transfer agreement (MTA) or User Fee that will limit dissemination of bacterial isolates after they leave CASPIR.
  5. CASPIR charges requestors for isolates if the isolates will be used by a for-profit organization. In the future, all requestors may be required to pay shipping fees, following notice in the Federal Register.
