Joint Venture ProgramsWhat are Joint Ventures? Joint ventures are regional-scale partnerships involving federal, state, and local government agencies, corporations, private landowners, individuals, and a wide range of non-governmental organizations. Joint ventures deliver science-based, on-the-ground conservation in support of national and international bird conservation plans, primarily the North American Waterfowl Management Plan . Directed by a management board consisting of representatives from numerous agencies, organizations, and other interests vested in the conservation of fish and wildlife habitat, joint ventures use a collaborative approach to prepare conservation plans and facilitate cooperation among partners to fund and implement those plans.
