Behavior Therapy Behavior therapy constitutes those strategies, based on learning principles such as reinforcement, that provide tools for overcoming barriers to compliance with dietary therapy and/or increased physical activity. Two questions are important in assessing the effect of behavior therapy in the treatment of overweight and obesity. First, does behavior therapy provide additional benefits above and beyond the other weight loss approachesdiet, physical activity, or drug therapy? Second, are there behavioral strategies that are more effective than others? |
