Severe Weather Spotter Talk Schedule

Severe weather spotters provide critical information to their communities and NWS forecasters during hazardous weather events.  Anyone with an interest is welcome to attend a spotter class.  There are no fees - only 2 to 3 hours of your time!  If your area is not listed, then check back for updates or attend a session at a location nearby. Many of the spotter training sessions taught by the NWS Lincoln office are Annual Spotter Update classes. These classes are intended as refresher training for experienced spotters, as well as initial training for people that are new to severe weather spotting. We recommend attending this spotter class annually. Topics covered in this class include:

For experienced spotters who want to learn more about the meteorology of severe weather, the NWS Lincoln office offers an advanced Meteorological Aspects of Severe Storms class about five times each Spring. These classes will be noted with the term   ***ADVANCED***   in the schedule below. Topics covered in this advanced training include:
There are currently no outreach events scheduled.

Below is a link to the 2007 Spotter Training. You will still need to attend a spotter training session to become a severe weather spotter in your area. The file is rather large, so a high speed Internet connection is highly recommended.
