Codex Committee on Fresh Fruits And Vegetables
Host Government: Mexico
The Codex Committee on Fresh Fruits and Vegetables is responsible for elaborating world-wide standards and codes of practice for fresh fruits and vegetables.
Fresh Fruit and Vegetable standards and codes of practice adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission are located in Volume 5B of the Codex Alimentarius, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Standards.

The Committee was informed that the 15th Session of the Codex Committee on Fresh Fruits and Vegetables was tentatively scheduled to be held in Mexico in approximately 18 months. The exact time and venue would be decided between the Codex and Mexican Secretariats.

The Committee will continue working on:
  • Layout for Codex Standards on Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
  • Amendments to the Priority List for the Standardization of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
New Work
  • Revision of the Codex Standard for Avocado
  • Proposed New Codex Standard for Durian
  • Proposed New Codex Standard for Chili Pepper
  • Proposed New Codex Standard for Tree Tomato
