Commercial Service staff attend the shows, and often provide matchmaking services for U.S. companies. U.S. shows that are part of the Department of Commerce's International Buyer Program will feature overseas delegations and an International Business Center staffed by Department of Commerce employees.

Holiday World 2009
Prague, Czech Republic
February 5-8, 2009
Central Europe’s premier tourism event, the 17th edition of Holiday World will be held in Prague on February (Dates TBC), 2009. In 2007, Holiday World hosted 702 exhibitors from 47 countries and 30,110 people visited the event. The WTO’s 2020 tourism vision forecast includes countries in the Holiday World target region among those with the potential to become “Europe’s tigers in the period to 2020”. Two of the countries – Czech Republic and Poland – currently rank among the world’s top 30 outgoing tourism spenders. Projections for future place Central Europe firmly at the top of the chart for outbound tourism and indicates “the largest rates of growth for intraregional European tourism will be recorded in Central Eastern Europe…”  The market for travel to the United States is growing steadily. Inexpensive airfares across the Atlantic and bargain prices for hotels make a visit to the U.S. possible even for students. There is a good opportunity for U.S. travel agencies to offer their services by participating at the event.

World Travel Market
ExCel Exhibition Centre, London, UK
November 10- 13, 2008
World Travel Market (WTM) is the largest travel trade show in the UK and is universally recognized as one of the major travel events in the world.  Located at ExCel, London’s prestigious exhibition center, WTM regularly attracts over 40,000 trade visitors, including 5,000 exhibitors from over 200 countries.  More than 200 U.S. travel suppliers are expected to participate in WTM 2008, many in the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA)’s Discover America Pavilion.  This pavilion offers U.S. travel suppliers recognized brand identity, lounge and hospitality areas, a Business Service Center, Internet and email access, and other extensive exhibitor services. The U.S. Commercial Service offers U.S. suppliers the opportunity to showcase their products through a Product Literature Center (PLC) at our WTM booth. This catalog show will appeal to the many US travel suppliers (for example attractions and hotels and smaller state tourism offices and convention and visitor bureaus with no UK represenation,) and that could not otherwise afford to fly to the UK or pay for an individual booth at WTM.  It is an extremely cost effective way to reach the many international tour operators who visit the U.S. Department of Commerce’s booth. The participation fee is just $450.

In addition to WTM, there are several other consumer shows:
