Gridded Data via FTP

We recommended that you register. In that case, we can notify you by e-mail if there are updates.

README is in all directories. Please see README for more details.

Each file contains 4 fields for each day. The fields are: Daily sea surface temperature(SST), SST anomaly, estimated error standard deviation of analysed_sst, and sea ice concentration. There is also a land sea mask for each format.

The 1/4 degree AMSR+AVHRR or AVHRR only Daily OI SST are available in NetCDF format in:

The 1/4 degree AMSR+AVHRR or AVHRR only Daily OI SST are available in IEEE files in:

Gridded Data via NOMADS

The data are also available via NOMADS. You can get data through TDS: NCDC NOMADS THREDDS Data Server
This will let you download the daily SST.

If you need time seriers data, try the aggregation page.
This allows you to extract time seriers data for your interested region.

You can also plot and extract the data using the NCDC NOMADS LAS Server
go to
Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperatures(AVHRR or AVHRR+AMSR).
Check the dataset variable(s).
Input the latitude, longitude, and time.
You can plot or extract the temperatures.
