The
National Weather Service has many dedicated weather observers across Arkansas. It
cannot be said enough how valuable these observers are, as they provide temperature and
precipitation measurements for their areas at least once a day. While that sounds
like a lot, how about someone who has done it for more than 50 years! |

Yes...it's true. Mr. Bernard M. Walther was presented an Edward H. Stoll
Award on February 9, 1999. Mr. Walther lives just outside of Cabot. The Stoll
award was named for a man who took weather observations for 76 years in central Nebraska. |
