Weather
observations have been taken at the Narrows Dam (Pike County, Arkansas) for 50 years as of
June, 2001. Employees at the dam have taken daily measurements of precipitation. These
measurements are eventually sent to the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North
Carolina and published to become a part of the permanent record of the world's weather. For their efforts,
employees at the Narrows Dam received a 50 Year Institutional Award. |
