Mr. Dwight Douglas of Mena, Arkansas
has been a cooperative observer for
the National Weather Service for 10 years (as of March, 2005). Each morning,
he has reported daily maximum and minimum temperatures and rainfall for
his area. At the end of each month, he sent his data to the
National Weather Service...which was forwarded to the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
This data is eventually published to
become a part of the permanent record of the world's weather. For his dedication, Mr. Douglas
received a 10 Year Length-of-Service Award from the National Weather Service. |
