| Error Reading Linearized Hint Data/File Partially
Opens When trying to open a PDF file, you may
get a message such as "Error Reading Linearized Hint Data"...or
the file may partially open before an error message appears. The good news
is there may be a simple fix. |

| In Acrobat Reader, click "Edit" and
then "Preferences" (Figure 1 above). This will open a preferences window. Once
opened, make sure "Options"
(in Version 5) or "Internet" (in later versions) is highlighted
(Figure 2 below). |

| Under "Web Browser Options",
disable (uncheck) "Allow Fast Web View". You're done! Close Acrobat Reader
and re-open your web browser. With a little luck, your PDF file should
open. Any Other Errors
On occasion, other errors may pop up that will prevent you from reading
a PDF file or several pages within the file. This could be caused by a
slow connection to the internet, the server may be busy, or something
else.

| If there happens to be an error that will not allow you
to access all or part of the file, do this: (1) Right click on the link
to the file. A window will pop up (Figure 3).
(2) In the window, choose "Save Target
As"... "Save Link As"... or "Save Link Target As". Another window will pop
up (Figure 4).
(3) In the new window, you will decide where to save the file on
your computer. Try the "Desktop" for easy access (an icon will show up on
your screen). If you save the file somewhere else, remember the file
name.
(4) Open the file now stored on your system.
