Site: Galley-Deck 5 Beverage Station
Violation: The back flow prevention device on the potable water line, serving the coffee machine, was leaking and water was noted pooling on the deck surface below. This unit was replaced at the time of the inspection.
Recommendation:Ensure that failed backflow prevention units are replaced.
Site: Potable Water-Spa Technical Rooms
Violation: The back flow prevention device intermediate atmospheric vent discharge port was directly connected to the waste drain line on both spa steam generators, defeating the air-gap and visual inspection of the units.
Recommendation:Ensure that air gaps are at least twice the diameter of the delivery fixture opening and a minimum of 3 cm (1 inch). Remove the direct connection between the intermediate atmospheric vent and the drain line.
Site: Potable Water-Engine Room - Potable Water Softeners
Violation: The backwash discharge pipe lines air-gaps that were less that twice the pipe diameter.
Recommendation:Ensure that air gaps are at least twice the diameter of the delivery fixture opening and a minimum of 3 cm (1 inch).
