Patuxent Science Meeting The Patuxent Wildlife Research Center will host a meeting with Patuxent scientists, scientific collaborators, and Federal/State/local natural resource manager partners October 11-13 at the USFWS National Wildlife Visitor’s Center, Laurel, MD. The program will offer a mechanism to report on current, completed studies and to begin the groundwork for future projects. Explore Nature and Research at the Patuxent Wildlife Festival Celebrate the Annual Patuxent Wildlife Festival, Saturday October 14th at the National Wildlife Visitor Center in Laurel, MD. Visitors will see live animal demonstrations, explore habitats on wildlife conservation tram tours, view research exhibits, hike trails, engage in children’s crafts, and explore behind-the-scenes areas of the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center including endangered whooping crane facilities. Visitors will gain insight into the history of research and the unique partnership between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Geological Survey as the agencies celebrate Earth Science Week and National Wildlife Refuge Week.
