Scott Phillips, USGS Chesapeake Bay Science Program Coordinator, Meets with Patuxent Staff

On February 11th, Scott Phillips, the USGS Chesapeake Bay Science Program (CBP) Coordinator, met with Director Judd Howell and staff to discuss the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center's Science Plan links to the Chesapeake Bay. The overall objective of the USGS CPB is to provide resource managers with the critical scientific information necessary to understand the complex relation between human-induced influences and natural controls on water quality, vital habitats, and living resources in the Bay and its watersheds. The USGS investigations will result in both the improvement of predictive tools to plan restoration strategies during 2002-2005, and help evaluate ecosystem improvement by 2010.
