1605(b) REPORTING GUIDELINES

The Office of Policy and International Affairs
The Assistant Secretary for Policy and International Affairs (PI) is the primary policy advisor to the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Under Secretary on domestic and international policy development and implementation, as well as DOE policy analysis and activities. The Office of Policy and International Affairs' role is to deliver unbiased advice to the Department of Energy's leadership on existing and prospective energy-related policies, based on integrated and well-founded data and analysis.

DOE's Energy Information Administration
The Energy Information Administration (EIA), created by Congress in 1977, is a statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Energy. It provides policy-independent data, forecasts, and analyses to promote sound policy making, efficient markets, and public understanding regarding energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment. The EIA is supporting the Office of Policy and International Affairs in revising the 1605(b) guidelines, soliciting public comments and publishing annual reporting data on greenhouse gases.
