FDA Posts New Qs & As on Website

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has posted new guidance documents on its website to address frequently asked questions (FAQs).

Allergens

The first document is "Guidance for Industry: Questions and Answers Regarding Food Allergens, including the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (Edition 3)." This is a revision of the second edition of a guidance document that contains questions and answers relating to food allergens, including questions and answers about the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA). FDA expects to continue to issue subsequent editions of this guidance document by adding new questions and answers to the guidance; new questions and answers will be identified by the date that they are added to the guidance.

Food and Color Additive Petitions

The second document is "Guidance for Industry: Questions and Answers About the Petition Process." This document is an updated list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) that is intended to be a convenient place to find answers to common questions about submitting a food or color additive petition and the regulatory process.
