Official Transcripts
The assessment must be completed prior to requesting an Official
Transcript as the assessment forms the basis for the transcript.
Once you have chosen the college or university that you wish to attend,
your next step is to complete an Official
USCG Transcript Request form CGI-1564.
The information on the transcript documents the student’s military learning experiences and is compiled from ACE credit recommendations based on the following:
- the student’s rate history
- the student’s military training history
- the student’s military correspondence course history
- the student’s college course completion history
- the student’s examination testing history
- the student’s certifications history
The information on the transcript is extracted from documentation provided by:
- the student
- personnel management information system
- Direct Access
- Official documents
- Coast Guard Institute database of nonresident courses
You should review your promotion and training history in Direct Access and take the necessary action to keep it up-to-date. If you are applying to a SOCCOAST college, you should send your enrollment package via the Institute because the registrar will include not only the official Coast Guard transcript, but the degree plan for the college, and a student agreement.
Importance of completing this document:
- Will provide an official copy of military and educational experiences
- Will have required, official documentation to send to a college
- Will have official documentation of military training
