Prevalence Tables
This section provides information on how to read and interpret
the Prevalence Tables produced by the Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance
System (PedNSS) and the Pregnancy Nutrition Surveillance System (PNSS).
The PedNSS and PNSS prevalence reports can be used to monitor specific
health indicators in public health programs. You can use the PedNSS and
PNSS prevalence tables to make comparisons of prevalence for each health
indicator, including:
- summary or overall prevalence
- geographic comparisons of prevalence
- prevalence stratified by demographic variables
Begin by reviewing the PedNSS and PNSS Summary of Health Indicators
tables because these provide information about overall prevalence and can
help you identify health problems or improvements in health indicators in
your population. The
number of records included in the data table analysis varies with each
health indicator.
