Accessibility Information |
The following links focus on disability, accessibility, and Section 508 compliance issues. Most links are either US Federal Government Web sites addressing accessibility, or non-Governmental sites supporting the same issues. This information is made available to assist managers, purchasing agents, and Web/software developers to provide accessibility and to meet the Section 508 standards.

- Section 508 requires that Federal agencies' electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities. The Federal Information Technology Accessibility Initiative is a Federal government interagency effort to offer information and technical assistance to assist in the successful implementation of Section 508.

NOAA has established the Section 508 EIT Accessibility Working Group to address the new challenges this policy poses, and relay important information on EIT Accessibility issues. This site is comprised of general overviews of the policies and guidelines, explanations of how 508 will affect specific roles within the organization, and a myriad of resources and tools to help you become aware of, and compliant with, the new standards.
