Richmond National Battlefield Park
Directions

We recommend that you start your visit to our park at the Civil War Visitor Center at Tredegar Iron Works located at 470 Tredegar Street. Park Rangers will provide maps for touring the battlefields. The following directions will get you there:

Traveling north on I-95: take exit 74C, which merges onto 17th Street.  Take 17th Street to Broad Street (4 blocks).  Turn right on Broad Street and stay on it to 14th Street (3 blocks).  Turn left on 14th Street and stay on it to Canal Street.  Turn right and stay on Canal Street to 5th Street (9 blocks).  Turn left on 5th Street and stay on it to Tredegar Street (2 blocks).  Turn right on Tredegar Street and then turn right again into the parking lot for the American Civil War Center and Richmond National Battlefield Park's Civil War Visitor Center.

Traveling South on I-95: use exit 75 (3rd Street) for Civil War Visitor Center.  The off ramp will merge onto 3rd Street.  Stay on 3rd Street to Cary Street (9 blocks).  Turn left onto Cary Street.  Stay on Cary Street to 5th Street (2 blocks).  Turn right onto 5th Street and stay on it until Tredegar Street (about 2 blocks).  Turn right on Tredegar Street and then turn right again into the parking lot for the American Civil War Center and Richmond National Battlefield Park's Civil War Visitor Center.

Traveling east on I-64: follow to intersection with I-95 south through the city of Richmond. Follow the above directions for I-95 south.

Traveling west on I-64, use the 5th Street (downtown) exit for the Richmond National Battlefield Park Civil War Visitor Center at Tredegar Iron Works. Take 5th Street to its end (12 blocks), turn right onto Tredegar Street, then right into the parking lot.  (Note:  Due to construction downtown, 5th Street is sometimes blocked at Broad Street.  In this event, turn left onto Broad Street and drive three blocks to 8th Street.  Turn right on 8th Street and continue on it to Canal Street.  Turn right on Canal Street and drive three blocks to 5th Street.  Turn left onto 5th Street and take it to its end at Tredegar Street.  Turn right onto Tredegar Street and then right again into the parking lot.)
