GOVERNOR'S WEST HAWAI`I COUNCIL OF ADVISORS TO HOLD YEAR-END OPERATIONAL MEETING IN KONA ON DEC. 13

KONA – The Governor’s West Hawai`i Council of Advisors will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 5:30 p.m., in the Mayor’s Conference Room in Kailua-Kona.

The Council of Advisors will hold an operational meeting to discuss and finalize a priority list of West Hawai`i issues to submit to the Governor for her review.  The Council will also accept public testimony at the meeting.

The councils of advisors are tasked with providing the Governor with a list of short- and long-term issues and goals that should be addressed by state government.  The councils also identify spending priorities and potential new sources of revenue for the state, as well as recommend potential nominees from the neighbor islands to serve on state boards and commissions.

Members of the Governor’s West Hawai`i Council of Advisors are Beverly Byouk, Ocean View; Joanne Ralston, Kapaau; John Ray and J. William Sanborn, Waimea; Douglas Carr, Waikoloa; and Rick Vidgen, Lei Kihoi, Elaine Watai and Estela Halverson of Kona.
