Public Schedule for the Week of June 16-20

June 16, Governor Lingle will participate in the commissioning of operations of a new photovoltaic system at the Halsey Terrace navy housing complex.  The project is part of the Forest City Military Communities housing partnership between Forest City, a national developer, and the Department of the Navy and the Department of Energy.

June 16, Governor Lingle will meet with Klaus Scharioth, the German ambassador to the United States.

June 16, Governor Lingle will discuss state issues on the afternoon drive-time radio show with host Mike Buck from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. HST.  Starting this month the show can be heard live in Hilo (The Beach, KTBH 102.1 FM), in addition to Maui (KAOI 1110 AM), Kaua`i (KQNG 570 AM), and O`ahu (KHVH 830 AM).  Listeners are invited to call 808-521-8383 from O`ahu or 888-565-8383 from the Neighbor Islands with questions and comments.

June 17, Governor Lingle will deliver the keynote address at the Kaua`i Chamber of Commerce meeting.  The Governor's remarks will focus on the economy, with a focus on Kaua`i County.

June 19, Governor Lingle and Lt. Governor and Mrs. Aiona will preside over the swearing-in of O`ahu residents who have been appointed to serve on state boards and commissions.  Associate Justice James E. Duffy of the Hawai`i Supreme Court will administer the oath.

June 20, The Governor and Human Services Director Lillian Koller will recognize foster youth who have successfully gradated from high school and obtained their High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate during this past school year.

June 20, In recognition of the 70th anniversary convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Hawai`i, Governor Lingle will recognize veterans who have served in World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom campaigns, as well as those who served during times of peace in support of our nation's safety.
